When to call for emergency towing

Call first. We assess each urgent job by location and vehicle, and give you a current, job-specific availability estimate. It is not a guaranteed arrival time.

Call TP Towing about

  • A car or light vehicle that has broken down and cannot be driven safely
  • A vehicle stopped somewhere you need it moved from now, at any hour
  • Urgent transport to a mechanic, home or another destination you choose

Route elsewhere first

  • A road crash: follow police and official accident towing arrangements
  • Anyone injured or in danger: call 000
  • Heavy, stuck or off-road vehicles: these need a suitability check before anything is offered

Road crash? Different rules apply

In Victoria, towing from an accident scene is a regulated activity. TP Towing does not offer accident-scene towing through this website. Follow directions from police or emergency services.

Short answers to these questions let us assess the job quickly.

Your call-ready checklist

Tick each item once you have it ready.

  1. Street address or intersection, or the road, carriageway and direction of travel. A map pin sent by text is helpful.

  2. Make and model, and whether it starts, rolls and steers.

  3. Where the vehicle should go: a mechanic, home or another address.

  4. Our answer

We tell you whether we can take the job, our current availability and the quote. The job is confirmed only when you accept.

Emergency towing questions

Yes. Mobile towing enquiries are taken 24/7 on 0469 929 029. Whether a tow can be arranged depends on the job and current availability. If it can wait, you can also request a towing quote.

From your exact location, the vehicle and what is already scheduled at the time you call. The estimate applies to that job only; it is not a fixed response time. For a planned collection, see car breakdown towing.

Follow directions from police or emergency services, and call 000 if anyone is hurt. Accident towing in Victoria runs under separate regulated arrangements. For safe waiting after a breakdown, read car breakdown safety in Victoria.
